Tecktronik Event Postponed

The anxiously awaited event, Tecktronik, has been postponed until further notice, due to the last minute complications we had with the venue management.

From what I’ve heard, about 100-200 people still turned up at the venue despite the mass notification about the postponement had been done on Facebook.  Flyers were handed out to apologise and explain the reason of the postponement.

Major disappointment expressed by the crowd over the venue management.

Anyway, just gotta wait for official announcements by the organizers.

Raya at the Federal Administrative Complex Hall

Went to a Raya celebration at the Federal Administrative Complex Hall, organized by government departments, with my fellow colleagues of the Treasury department (where I'm currently doing my practical training).

It was PACKED!  Lots of stalls with good food but didn't have the chance to go to every single stall and try them out cos' the crowded atmosphere ruined my appetite.  Only managed to 'reach' 3 stalls to have ketupat, rendang, lemang and drinks.

Stayed there for almost 3 hours.  Left my workplace at 11AM, reach the complex at almost 12 noon and came back to the office few minutes before 3PM!

~i'll never go to any crowded event, ever. Especially with free food! LOL!~

My Bebeh's Birthday

Her birthday was on the 29th.

I know I know. I should've posted this blog earlier. What to do, I malas. =P

Anyway, celebrated her birthday during our member's meeting at the office at night. A surprise for her actually. If only I had a video camera with me, I could've taken a priceless video of her reaction to that surprise. hehe

Although her birthday wasn't perfect (due to certain reasons), but I'm glad it went well. I thank God for that. :)

Mum's Birthday Night Out

Yesterday was my mum's birthday.

Had dinner with the family, tagging along my inang (mum's mum) at a friend's restaurant in Alam Mesra, "10AM Cafe".

Then, we went back home cos' my dad and I had to settle some business stuff first.

Sometime after 12 midnight we left the house to Jesselton Point. As there was nothing much to see there, we decided to go to Waterfront.

After walking for a few minutes, came the "incident" which made me very worried. I'm not gonna write down the incident, cos it's kinda long and complicated to explain.

But after the "incident", everything went well. I thank God nothing bad happened. So we lepak at Waterfront till almost 2AM.

YouTube got Virus???

I was checkin' out my YouTube account today and saw this interesting video by SMP films (which I'm subscribed to). So I clicked it.

I was SHOCKED when this came out.


My first impression was, "YouTube got hit by virus???"

BUT THEN, I realised that I have to watch YouTube upside down. So I tilted my head to the side and everything was in place. YESH!!

Shuffle Meetup at Razz Ma Tazz

Went to a shuffle meetup yesterday afternoon with my friend, Christianus aka Noozey.

It was packed! The venue is not a really big place, that's why.

The number of people attended was about 50, i guess... I think it was more.

Genre of music played were mostly House Electro. Hardstyle, only a few tracks. Trance, definitely. Even Psytrance was played. Shufflers can just shuffle to any type of music that is around 125-150 BPM (Beats Per Minute) and has a DUP-DUP-DUP-DUP beat. LOL!

I was expecting more Hardstyle to be played. And to make things a bit more sucky, the DJ's mixing was not really impressive. Missed the tempo, hence, a shitty beatmatch. I'm not saying I'm a pro but the DJ could have done a better job.
It's a kick (bass drum) on every beat and he still couldn't beatmatch??? =_='''

But overall, it was cool. We got to see new kids shuffle. We didn't stay long there cos I had to fetch my sister from school and Noozey had to go back early. So yea....

My sister left for National Service

Yeah, that's far away from home. My parents are worry cos' she's a girl, plus she's not a big person, if you get what i mean. Well, I worry too, of cos'. But we can't worry to much, she has to learn to be more independent. :)

Had her registered at Likas Stadium early this morning, then she followed the provided bus to the airport. Her flight was around 12.15PM, i guess. (I'm not sure cos' I wasn't there)

My dad called her about few hours later to know how she's doing.

She'll be coming back in 8th of June 2009.

I hope she'll have fun there - meeting new friends, doing cool activities, etc.
Cos' I know I had fun when I was in National Service. :D

old friends reunited

we were friends and classmates in primary school, SJK (c) Shan Tao.

the last time i talked to him was back in year 2000 after he moved to SK Mutiara.

i met him once in 2002/2003, i think. we didn't really chat much cos he looked like as if he was with the bad company. so i was sort of reluctant to get along with him.

last year, 2008, my cousin joined this shuffle group called Trance Energy (TE). i checked out the members' videos on YouTube and saw this guy named "Syafilth". he's the leader of the group. and i was like "hey, this guy looks familiar".

so i clicked on his MySpace link from his video to find out more about him.

then,

I've just been appointed to be the Secretary of the Event Committee for St. Simon Church.

It was suggested to me but I was sort of reluctant at first.
However, I thought to myself, this will be my first step to actually be involve in an outside-of-school committee, which would be interesting.

So, apa lagi? Cuba try test jak bah... :D

Ash Wednesday - The beginning of Lent

First day of Lent, Ash Wednesday,
my family and I attended Mass at St. Simon Church.

It was PACKED! Could hardly find a parking space.
But of course, I managed to find one. Double park lor, what else... hehe

It was drizzling. Only for a short while tho'. After that was non-stop cool breeze.

I heard that Sacred Heart Cathedral (SHC) was packed PACKED! Much more packed than St. Simon (according to my aunt who went there).

This is one of the events where once-in-a-while-church-goers go to church. xD

To my brothers and sisters in Christ, be reminded that Ash Wednesday and Good Friday is observed by fasting, abstinence from meat, and repentance.

Those who continue fasting, we willl pray for you. :)

Lifeline Ministry

Friday (20th Feb 2009), 8PM:

My sister and I attended the Lifeline University, College & Young Adults Ministry

at Sacred Heart Parish, Room F7.

It is our first time.

I was invited by the leader, Felix (my dad taught his choir group, singing, long long time ago when I was still in primary school) quite sometime ago when we knew he was active and leading Lifeline.

But I never made it or rather didn't have the chance to go as I was staying in Putatan and it was a loooong way.

That wasn't the only excuse tho'. LOL. I'm being honest here xD. I didn't have any friends to go with and that made me say, "Aiya lazy lah to go".

But then, a friend of mine, Aaron told me a few weeks ago, "Hey, come join Lifeline. I just joined." Without hesitation, I said "Sure!!" and I was "Yesss! Got kawan sudah!" Hahaha...

So that's how I finally got into the Lifeline Ministry.

Done with the introduction.. Now about my 1st experience.

It was awesome! My sis and I, plus 3 more new comers, did a short intro about ourselves and were welcomed warmly with hugs and handshakes. "Thanks everyone!!! :D" Of course, we made new friends too! :)

After that we listened to a 'talk' and at the same time we had our small group (divided earlier) discussion. It was fun and interesting. The speaker was Derrick (I'm not sure of the spelling), a missionary who went overseas to God's work and share the Good News! He is finally back in KK. It was a good sharing from him.

We finished about almost 11 PM. 2 groups were split and each went to Diamond, Bornion and the other Jia Xiang, Lintas to proceed for supper! The group that I was with went to Jia Xiang. Felix was with us.

BTW, sorry no photos. Didn't bring my camera along. Next time lah... hehehe

I hope I will be able to attend the Lifemass tomorrow night or rather tonight at Sunset Mass.

I'm sorry to hear some of my friends didn't get to spend a good V-day. I hope everything will still be OK. Cheer up, it's not end of the world tho. :)

Anyways, my sister Maxine spent time with her boyfriend while roaming the shopping complex. lol. While my youngest sister Olivia, didn't. Study dulu, jangan boyfriend2. haha

As for my parents, they also went 'dating' lah. They had dinner then stayed overnight in a hotel. Paham2 la tu kan? XD

Me? Me ar? Well, I went gay in the early hours of the night. ROFL.
Actually had dinner with my college cina-buddies, Ray, Liew, Tan. Tan brought his cousin along. Ezra didn't join us due to personal reasons.

After dinner, *clears throat*, I went dating too at Upperstar, Damai! hehe... Well, sort of like having a meet-up with a former schoolmate from high school. But it's a date jugak bah kan? kan? =) I'm glad everything went well and she enjoyed it despite this is actually my first time to bring someone out for a date. Seriously! haha I'm still a noob at this.

On the same day I got my haircut, my family and I went for a dinner at Hyatt at night. My parents' friend from KL came over so she belanja us makan buffet!

I had 5 rounds and was bloated after that. But it was worth it! "Thank you, aunty!"

EQUUS Play

On the 31st of January 2009 (Saturday), 7PM, I attended a play hosted by the KDCA-ISCEP Alumni, titled "EQUUS".

Yeah so I went with my dad and sister. My cuzzies Ayrton and Alley also attended the play.

Here's what I think about the play:

AWESOME!!!

Yes it was awesome! It was an intense play. The feeling of being there right in front, i mean really up-close with the actors, is just unexplainable... So SYOK! lol...
Especially when Hazli, who played Dr Dysart, who was sort of speaking directly to the audience, in other words, he was also the narrator. I felt as if he was mad at us and going to kick our asses.
LOL What a thought! xD

Anyways, I'd rate this play 9 out of 10. There are, of course, room for improvement. :D

Looking forward to seeing another play from these incredible, young, talented actors/actresses!

we celebrated jordan's (we always call him 'tan') birthday at k-box, waterfront last night from 6 - 10PM.

we had lotsa FUN and LAUGHS, especially when we had to release our anger at the k-box management by singing vulgar songs for not informing us that we needed to present our student cards to get discount before we enter the room! LOL!!!

oh ya, i did mention 'buffet' right? well, i don't have to explain what most people normally do at buffets.. muahahahaha...

also, HEAVY DOWNPOUR for few hours and caused major flash flood in some area...
from what i've heard, it was flooded in damai and lido.
